In-Person Volunteer Clearance Process

You are required to pass this clearance to do coaching in person. Please read through this guide before beginning clearance so you don’t confuse yourself. Start as soon as possible.
Refer to the detailed steps on our “In person coaching” page sequence.
Go to https://www.riversideunified.org/parents/volunteer_opportunities and click “Adult Volunteer Participation Form”.
If you are from UCR, include this for “other” and “reason you are requesting to volunteer”: “UCR Student Volunteering for Science Olympiad”.

Takes 5-10 minutes.

But essential rules: NO private communication with minors (talk to instead), NO adding students on social media, keep conversations on-topic and appropriate.

Call (951)274-4213. State you are a volunteer coaching at RSA. You likely won’t need a physical test unless you traveled out of the country. You can reference your UCR entry TB test.
Head to UCR Student Health Center (USHIP), any clinic accepting your insurance, or the CVS near UCR at 491 East Alessandro Boulevard.

Email nvu042@ucr.edu to meet up and receive a voucher. Any where near UCR is fine.

Redeem the Voucher at UPS at 5198 Arlington Ave Riverside, CA 92504. When you redeem, remember to bring the live scan form sent by RUSD volunteer email.

Once you receive an email stating you are clear, double-check with Michael Tin (mtin@riversideunified.org) that you are officially cleared on his list.
Walk uphill from the parking lot to the school gates. Bring a driver’s license to sign in for “science olympiad with Joshua Zonker”.
Yes, but you must download and install the network certificate from https://webapps.riversideunified.org/networkcert/
Email feedback on your clearance experience to nvu042@ucr.edu (was it helpful, any problems, etc.).
